Cape Town – When you picture Queen Elizabeth, you probably envision a woman in a bright skirt suit, usually complete with a matching hat and a stern expression on her face looking absolutely, positively regal.

But Her Majesty’s often expressed her desire to blend in, even if she is the Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth Realms.

Royal author, Adam Heliker, once spoke about how badly she wants to walk into a room filled with people and have no one notice her. One time, she even went so far as to fulfil a palace builder’s wish and make him tea.

He didn’t turn around – he thought he was simply talking to another palace employee – and the queen didn’t stop to correct him.

Now, the queen’s dresser of 25 years, Angela Kelly, has revealed the details behind a rather casual picture of Her Majesty that was released exclusively by HELLO! Magazine in anticipation of her book, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe.

In the picture captured by photographer Barry Jeffery, the queen has her hands in her pockets, with a huge smile on her face. She’s often been told not to pose as casually as this though. Angela explained the images weren’t initially released because members of the Royal Collection felt it more "candid photographs would bring the monarchy down and therefore they were not suitable for the public eye".

People reports, according to Angela, Queen Elizabeth confided that she had a "secret wish" to be captured as casually as she was – and she didn’t even need cues from the photographer.

"Her Majesty took her position in front of the lens and started striking a series of poses, slipping her hands in and out of her pockets and placing them onto her hips, mimicking the stances of a professional model," Angela said according to The Telegraph, "I stood by in disbelief – the Queen was a natural."
