Cape Town - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding is just around the corner and the wedding planning is in full swing!
With everything we know so far about their wedding it’s clear the couple are set on making this day extra special for themselves and loved ones.
And one of those loved ones is the late Princess Diana!
When Meghan and Harry say “I do” on 19 May, St George’s Chapel will be adorned with floral arrangements that pay tribute to the prince’s late mother.
Phillippa Craddock, who was chosen by the couple as the official florist for their big day, will be creating custom floral arrangements that pay a sweet and sentimental tribute to Princess Diana.
According to People, the pair have chosen to use white garden roses in the bouquets and flower arrangements, as white garden roses were Princess Diana’s favourite flower.
In addition to white roses the royal wedding flowers will incorporate peonies, which are the bride-to-be’s favourite flower, reports Harper’s Bazaar.
Phillippa says that working with the couple has been an “absolute pleasure”.
“The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative and fun.
“The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality and sustainability being at the forefront,” she told People.
Besides the floral homage Harry and Meghan have also invited Diana's entire family to the wedding, including his uncle Earl Spencer, his two aunts Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, and all of his cousins, Vanity Fair reports.
Harry also incorporated his mother in his enagaement by designing Meghan’s ring with two stones from Diana’s personal jewellery collection.
