Cape Town – Prince William doesn’t let Prince George bully Princess Charlotte.
While at a tea hosted by Kensington Palace, His Royal Highness spoke to 14-year-old Olivia Hancock who was awarded the Diana Award for promoting equality between the sexes, telling her he tries to do the same with his kids, reports HELLO! Magazine.
According to People, Olivia said Prince William explained, "'When George and Charlotte play football, George gets Charlotte to go in goal because he says he is better.' But Prince William says to him, 'Charlotte could be as good as you, George, so give her the same chances'.
"I think that was really good as it shows Prince William is standing up for equality as well," Olivia said. "He is doing something for women in sport."
Olivia, along with other recipients of the award, will have access to a two-year development programme which will look to enhance leadership, community development, social entrepreneurship and technology, according to the Kensington Royal Instagram page.
"The Diana Award is a continuation of Princess Diana’s legacy and her belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better," they explain.
"Taking place every two years, the Legacy Awards celebrate the achievements of 20 outstanding young leaders, visionaries and role models from across the world, aged 12-25, who have demonstrated their ability to inspire and mobilise new generations to serve their communities."
Ahead of the 2019 Awards, The Diana Award Instagram account shared a photograph of the late princess with her inspiring words: "Carry out a random act of kindness with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
