Cape Town - Queen Elizabeth does have a favourite royal after all!
According to Angela Mollard, a podcaster from Australian magazine New Idea, Her Majesty has a soft spot for Princess Margaret’s daughter, Sarah Armstrong-Jones.
“Not many people know this, but one of the Queen’s favourite people in the Royal Family is her sister’s daughter,” Angela said.
“Sarah Armstrong-Jones who married artist Daniel Chatto. Lady Sarah Chatto loves horses and she’s very creative.
“They’ve always been incredibly close. I think it’s a lovely thing, both for Sarah and for the queen to have this relationship with her sister’s daughter.”
While the 93-year-old went on to rule the Commonwealth, Princess Margaret, the Countess of Snowdon, lived a lavish life, Daily Express reports.
The countess, who died in 2002, was always noticeably late for royal events, according to Vanity Fair.
“Dinner was at 8.30 and at 8.30 Princess Margaret’s hairdresser arrived, so we waited for hours while he concocted a ghastly coiffure,” English novelist Nancy Mitford after an eventful dinner hosted in the countess’ honour in Paris.
“She looked like a huge ball of fur on two well-developed legs. Shortest dress I ever saw – a Frenchman said it begins so low and ends so soon.”
