  • The queen was spotted riding around Windsor Park recently.
  • Her Majesty has always loved riding, receiving her first pony when she was just four years old.
  • At 94, the queen still rides frequently, but says she's a "fair-weather" rider now.

The queen has been spotted out and about for the first time since lockdown was enforced in the UK, doing what she loves most: riding!

The royal family shared a photograph on Instagram on Sunday of Her Majesty at Windsor Castle, where she is currently social distancing with Prince Philip amid the pandemic, with Fern – a 14-year-old Fell Pony.

Though the queen is in "excellent spirits", according to a royal insider, and would like to return to work "as soon as she possibly can", she's quite enjoyed spending time with her husband and riding around Windsor Park, which is usually her weekend home.

The queen has always been fond of riding – having received her very first pony when she was just four years old, according to People.

But things have changed a bit over the years for the 94-year-old monarch, reports Harper's Bazaar. Though she rides regularly, she once told royal aides in an ITV documentary: "I'm rather a fair-weather rider now. I don't like getting cold and wet."
