Cape Town – Meghan Markle fans were given an early Christmas present when her Instagram account was mysteriously reactivated, but it didn’t last very long.
On Tuesday evening, the IG account the Duchess of Sussex had managed before marrying Prince Harry rebooted for a few hours after being shut down in January this year, Hello! magazine reports.

But before fans could get excited about Meghan breaking another royal protocol the verified account, which boasted 3 million followers, was deactivated with a royal source saying it was merely a technical glitch.
Royal reporter Omid Scobie set the record straight on Twitter by referring to a “system glitch”.

Meanwhile those who did get a chance to scroll through Meghan’s life on social media before the royals, did notice something different.
A few posts that were there before the account was shut down were no longer there now, E! News reports.
While the last post on the newly reactivated account was a collage of fans who read her now-closed lifestyle blog The Tig – posted in April 2016 – people who followed Meghan prior to the closing of her account claim she posted right up until it was officially announced that she and Harry are a couple in 2017.
