Cape Town - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly spent the weekend visiting A-lister friends in Italy.

Prince Harry and Meghan spent time at Amal and George Clooney’s Lake Como abode, reports Us Weekly.

“The Clooneys personally invited Meghan and Harry to their home at the beginning of the summer with an open invitation,” a source told Us Weekly.

The royals spent three nights with the A-listers after arriving at Lake Como on 16 August.

The source further said: “George and Amal were so happy to host Meghan and Harry. Harry and George have a special bond and friendship.”

The trip comes ahead of the tour of Australia the royals have planned for October, in which they will attend the Invictus Games, reports The Guardian.

The Clooneys are said to be close friends of the royals – even attending their wedding on 19 May.

Amal has reportedly known Meghan for a while and introduced the duchess to her own personal hair stylist, Miguel Perez, reports Express.

“Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life,” an insider said. “It was a very natural friendship from day one,” they added.

With Amal being a Human Rights activist and the duchess an active UN Women's advocate since 2015, their friendship is really no surprise.
