Princess Maria Galitzine, 31, of the Habsburg Dynasty, dies

Maria Singh, neé Princess Maria Galitzine, of the Habsburg Dynasty, has died. She was 31 years old.

The Austrian princess died on 4 May. She is the daughter of Prince Piotr Galitzine and Princess Maria-Anna Galitzine – her royal status came from both her parents as Prince Piotr is a Russian aristocrat and her mother is the daughter of the Archduke Rudolf of Austria, the youngest son of Emperor Charles I of Austria and Empress Zita of Bourbon-Parma (the last Emperor and Empress of Austria). According to an obituary published in The Houston Chronicle, her death was caused by a "sudden" cardiac aneurysm.

She was buried on 8 May in the Orthodox section of Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, reports People.

She is survived by her parents, five siblings, husband, Rishi Roop Singh, a chef in Houston where she lived, as well as her two-year-old son, Maxim, reports Town & Country.

Though she was born in Luxembourg and was a descendent of the Habsburg Dynasty, she lived a very normal life – even becoming an interior designer.

Her sister, Tatiana, who lives in Texas, spoke about their not-so-royal life to The Houston Chronicle in 2018 saying: "My life is completely normal unless we are invited to royal weddings. My mail sometimes says 'Princess Tatiana.' What was weird was when I went from 'Princess' to 'Mrs.' I had been a princess all my life."
