  • Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly taking legal action against Tatler for claims made about the duchess.
  • Kensington Palace released a statement last week saying the story contained a "swathe of inaccuracies".
  • Now, the couple is demanding the publication remove the article titled Catherine the Great.
  • Tatler stands by their story

Prince William and Kate Middleton released a statement last week following Tatler's July/August cover story claiming the duchess has been feeling "exhausted and trapped" after Harry and Meghan's exit from the royal firm.

Kensington Palace said: "This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication."

It seems William and Kate may be taking further legal action, with InStyle saying an insider told The Daily Mail the couple is demanding the article be scrapped entirely.

The couple reportedly sent legal letters to the magazine.

"That is such an extremely cruel and wounding barb. It's disgusting. It's sexist and woman-shaming at its very worst," a source shared with The Daily Mail, saying the story is "full of lies".

William and Kate have not yet commented on the latest developments.

Tatler defended their story saying: "Tatler's Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the 'Catherine the Great' cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false."
