UPDATE: Meghan gives birth to a baby boy

A royal baby announcement in imminent, giving Prince Harry no choice but to cut short an upcoming trip to the Netherlands.

Kensington Palace on Wednesday announced that the Duke of Sussex would be visiting the Netherlands on 8 and 9 May to undertake an official engagement in Amsterdam.

After speculation that Meghan has already given birth grew, a representative for Buckingham Palace confirmed to E! News on Thursday that "the baby hasn't been born yet".

On Friday a statement regarding Harry's upcoming trip was released, Hello! magazine reports.

"Due to the logistical planning for the travelling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex's scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8 May 2019," the statement read.

It added that Harry will still travel to The Hague on Thursday to launch the 2020 Invictus Games.

"The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday, 9 May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned."

And so, the royal baby watch continues.
