Cape Town - Prince George and Princess Charlotte looked to be having lots of fun while hanging out with their mom, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, as their dad, Prince William, played polo in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy.

The toddlers were photographed running around at the Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, Gloucestershire on Sunday.

George (4), who is often shy in public, appeared to be enjoying himself while playing with his cousins and sister, Charlotte (3).

But the toy gun the prince was photographed playing with while sitting on the grass raised an eyebrow or two!

People took to Twitter to express their disappointment, saying that it’s “insensitive” considering some countries have serious problems with gun violence.

One comment said: “This was the only disappointing thing about today’s polo match photos. I really don’t get toy guns – why play with things you should never have to use.

“Kate alone shouldn’t be blamed about this as we don’t know who owns the toys, but someone should have said that this is NOT OK.”

Another tweet said it wasn’t acceptable for Prince George to be playing with toy guns as people had died in incidents where children ostensibly played with toys which turned out to be real guns.

George, who’s known to have an interest in police, was also pictured playing with what looked like a toy knife and handcuffs.
