After Prince Charles announced on Wednesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus, many started speculating he may have gotten the Covid-19 virus from Prince Albert who also tested positive just last week.

The two princes both attended the WaterAid charity event in London on 10 March, so even though The Prince of Wales' statement read, "It is not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks," many wondered if he contracted the virus from the 62-year-old monarch.

Addressing the claims, Prince Albert spoke to RTL radio on Thursday to address the royal commentators, reports HELLO! Magazine.

"I was at a roundtable for his foundation, but we never shook hands. I was at the other end of the table, way far away," he said. "We nodded hello to one another, so I don't think I can really be accused of contaminating him.

"There were a lot of other people around at the congress centre, and I know he continued his schedule afterwards for a number of days.

"[He] had a number of other opportunities to catch it."

Both Prince Albert and Prince Charles are self-quarantining – Prince Albert is working at the palace, separate from his family, while Prince Charles is with Camilla at their home in Scotland.

The royals seem to be doing okay for now with Prince Albert saying his "flu-like" symptoms are "pretty mild" and a source revealing Prince Charles is in "good spirits".
