Cape Town - It’s a boy!

It may not be a blue blood baby, but the birth of Pippa Middleton and James Matthew’s first child has royal watchers all aflutter.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister (35) gave birth to her hefty 3,5kg son at 13:58 on Monday, a spokesperson told Hello!

“Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well."

According to reports, Pippa was seen arriving at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital earlier on Monday, wearing a long blue coat. It's not surprising Pippa opted for St Mary's - Kate gave birth to Prince George (5), Princess Charlotte (3) and Prince Louis (6 months) there.

Pippa, who didn’t suffer from severe morning sickness like her sister Kate did with all three of her pregnancies, was out and about this weekend, having attended Princess Eugenie’s wedding in Windsor.

The very pregnant author and fitness columnist didn’t let her enormous belly stop her from looking as stylish as ever at the big event, donning a striking green dress, matching hat, and sky-high black stilettos.

Her financier husband (43), whom she wed in a countryside wedding in May last year, was by her side.

The sports-mad couple recently enjoyed a sun-soaked ‘babymoon’ in Tuscany, Italy. Pippa and James stayed at the exclusive Il Pellicano Hotel in Porto Ercole for several days last month, where they spent plenty of time swimming in the crystal clear ocean, which guests can get to via a wooden pier from the hotel.

“She is a good swimmer,” an onlooker told Hello! “She swam parallel to the beach for about 100-130 feet, doing both the front crawl and backstroke.”

Swimming has been a major outlet for fitness fanatic Pippa throughout her pregnancy, during which she had to tone down her “five-day-a-week [exercise] routine”.

“Swimming offers a wonderful feeling of weightlessness,” Pippa wrote as she entered her third trimester in the magazine for UK store Waitrose

“As the months pass, you feel heavier by the day, but being in water gives that floating, light-as-air feeling that soothes and relieves the body, counteracts increased back strain and stretches the legs from the growing bump.”

“It’s comforting to know that it’s safe throughout pregnancy, and you don’t need to adapt and change too much.”
