Cape Town - Buckingham Palace has ordered the Duchess of Sussex's Hollywood friend to remove images of her that she posts to promote her jewellery business.

Jennifer Meyer, a jeweller to the stars and the ex-wife of actor Tobey Maguire has been attracting customers by saying the Duchess of Sussex "can't get enough" of her pieces which include necklaces and rings.

But the 42-year-old has reportedly breached a non-disclosure agreement, according to a senior Buckingham Palace spokesperson.

"Jennifer Meyer has been told to remove the images and in no uncertain terms how damaging this could be for Meghan and the Royal Family," a source told Mirror.

The posts have since been removed from Meyer’s Instagram and website.

Meyer is a favourite among Tinseltown’s stars including Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon, Chrissy Teigen and Jennifer Aniston, who have all worn her pieces.

Her collection starts at $100 (R1 465) for a stud to $35 000 (R512 000) for a diamond necklace.
