Meghan takes on first four royal patronages as Duchess of Sussex

Each of the four patronages reflect the causes and issues with which Meghan has long been associated, and two of them have been passed on to the duchess by Queen Elizabeth.
The duchess is “delighted to become Patron of both national and grassroots organisations that are part of the fabric of the UK, and is very much looking forward to working with them to bring wider public attention to their causes,” a statement by the palace reads.
“Her Royal Highness feels she can use her position to focus attention on, and make a particular difference to these organisations and, more widely, the sectors they each represent.”
In preparation to become patron, Meghan has held private meetings with each of the organisations to discuss their future.
Starting on Thursday, Meghan will visit each of the organisations over the next few weeks.
