Cape Town - It seems Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, always had her sights set on an English hunk.
At least according to Lizzie Cundy, who claims Meghan asked her to help her find a "famous British man".
Lizzie, a former-WAG-turned-TV-host, says she and the duchess formed a close friendship after attending a charity dinner together in 2013.
"We were having a girly chat and then she said, 'Do you know any famous guys? I’m single and I really love English men'. So I said, 'We’ll go out and find you someone'," Lizzie told The Sun.
Unfortunately Meghan and Lizzie lost contact after the former American actress started dating Prince Harry, says the 50-year-old.
According to Daily Mail, Lizzie showed Meghan a picture of Ashley Cole but the English professional footballer was ruled out as a potential suitor due to his reputation.
Lizzie says she was shocked when news of Harry and Meghan’s relationship broke.
"I texted saying, 'Oh my god, I heard about Harry'. And she was like, 'Yeah I know. We’ll try and hook up'."
But Lizzie never heard from her again and believes Meghan was "advised to end contact with people she befriended in the media".
