Cape Town - Queen Elizabeth has assigned a mentor to the Duchess of Sussex to help her adjust to royal life.
Royal expert Katie Nichol recently revealed the queen has allocated Sophie, Countess of Wessex as a mentor to Meghan to navigate her path through royalty, Mirror reports.
"The two spent time together at Royal Ascot last year and are understood to get along well," Katie revealed.
"The pair share similar backgrounds, as Sophie, like Meghan, gave up a successful career in PR to marry into the royal family, so is in a position to help Meghan."
The countess and her husband, Prince Edward, have two children – James, Viscount Severn, and Lady Louise Windsor, Daily Express reports.
Like Sophie and Edward the Sussexes have opted not to give their son Archie a royal title in order to avoid the public spotlight.
"The queen likes the idea of Sophie being an unofficial mentor to Meghan," a royal source told Grazia.
"Sophie is often at Windsor taking the kids riding on the queen's horses and playing at the castle.
"It's a quiet lifestyle, very much the kind Harry and Meghan want for their little one."
