UPDATE: Meghan gives birth to a baby boy
Cape Town- There’s mounting speculation that the Duchess of Sussex has given birth, and it appears Kensington Palace has dropped a major hint that Meghan and Harry have already welcomed the new royal baby.
According to Metro UK, the palace issued a statement on Wednesday saying Prince Harry would be visiting the Netherlands next week to undertake an official engagement in Amsterdam.
Many consider this to be a hint that Meghan has already given birth in secret.
"He'd always planned to go but with the impending birth of his child it wasn't announced in advance in case he was no longer able to attend," a royal aide said.
"He's pleased he's able to attend."
British radio DJ Chris Evans also hinted that baby Sussex has arrived, telling listeners he knows something about the birth, Bristol Live reports.
"I'm not sure what I know, but I think I know something," he told listeners on his breakfast show.
Evans said the queen visited the couple at Frogmore Cottage, not to see their new home but to meet the new arrival.
"I'm just saying, I'm just putting it out there, right? The queen has been to see Meghan and Harry," he said.
"Now, she doesn't do that. That's all I'm saying. The queen has been to see them. Now, that doesn't happen."
The Duchess of Sussex previously said her due date was the end of April or early May but royal watchers are still waiting for an update.
The couple have said they'll only announce news of the birth once they've had time to celebrate together as a new family.
