Did Kate recycle Prince Harry’s old shirt for Louis at Trooping the Colour?
Cape Town - In his blue-and-white ensemble, Prince Louis undoubtedly stole the show at this year’s Trooping the Colour.
The little prince adorably sucked his thumb during the day’s proceedings, waved enthusiastically to the crowd and even clapped cheerfully along while the national anthem was being sung.
But what really caught eagle-eyed royal watchers’ attention was his outfit, which bore a striking resemblance to an outfit worn by a young Prince Harry during Trooping the Colour in 1986, Elle.com points out.
At the royal event more than three decades ago, the Duke of Sussex wore the white shirt with blue embroidery, teamed with a matching pair of blue shorts. Louis made his 2019 Trooping the Colour debut in an outfit that looks identical.
Harpers Bazaar points out while it’s unsure whether the 13-month-old actually wore Harry’s shirt, it’s apparent the Duchess of Cambridge wanted to replicate the look.
Kate (37) also wore a vibrant yellow ensemble, just as Princess Anne did in 1986. The duchess looked resplendent in an Alexander McQueen dress and Philip Treacy hat. Her earrings were a special loan from the queen.
