"If I’d played my cards right, I could’ve been the first Jewish princess," the 77-year-old joked.

The pair first met in 1974 on the set of her film Funny Lady.

Their paths crossed again 20 years later when she sang for the Prince’s Trust charity at London’s Wembley Stadium.

There were even rumours the Prince of Wales had a poster of the singer on his wall and was infatuated with her, Daily Mail reports.

In 2006, the biography Barbra – The Way She Is alleged the pair had a secret affair while Charles was dating Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The Oscar winner’s show drew in a star-studded crowd including A-listers actors Antonio Banderas and Ralph Fiennes, model Kate Moss and the Beckhams.

Prince Charles wasn’t the only royal the star spoke of at her show.

In her opening song, she referenced the Duchess of Sussex singing: “When the sun begins to sparkle, like that ring on Meghan Markle.”

Barbra also paid homage to her favourite things about the UK, even taking regular intervals to sip some English breakfast tea from a teacup.
