Cape Town - After keeping it on the down-low for ages Toni Braxton confirmed her engagement to Birdman in February – and now, according to Rap-Up, the couple has revealed their theme inspiration: Anything from Sex and the City to The Great Gatsby.
“This is my second wedding and I’m over 40,” said the 50-year-old singer. “It’s like [Sex and the City’s] Carrie Bradshaw – the last bride. It’ll be elegant and a little sexy.”
Even though the couple only started dating in 2016, Toni says they’ve been friends for almost two decades. “He’s been my bestie for like 15 or 16 years,” she explained. Toni added that she’s grateful for the support Birdman gave her while she was fighting lupus complications, “Every day I had a show, he came.”
She even shared a little about what kind of man Birdman is. “He’s a gentleman, he’s such a gentleman. Opening doors . . . I promise you.”
And likewise, the 49-year-old rapper had nothing but love, respect and praises for his soon-to-be wife. “She’s a legend. She do her thing. She’s just prolific with that sh**. I think she’s a one of one and a very special talent in the music business.”
