Johannesburg - Award winning singer Sam Smith recently shared a shirtless picture of himself in which he got candid about his past struggles with body confidence.
Taking to his Instagram page the Fire on Fire hitmaker, revealed his hunky frame in a snap taken by the seaside and wrote in the caption:“In the past if I have ever done a photo shoot with so much as a t-shirt on, I have starved myself for weeks in advance.”
The 26-year-old English singer further explained that even after the photo shoot he would pick and prod at every picture taken then proceed to take it down.
“Yesterday, I decided to fight the f*** back. Reclaim my body and stop trying to change this chest and these hips and these curves that my mum and dad made and love so unconditionally,” Sam wrote.
“Some may take this as narcissistic and showing of,” he added in the caption before he continued, “but if you knew how much courage it took to do this and the body trauma I have experienced as a kid you wouldn’t think those things.”
