Cape Town – Camila Mendes and Charles Melton are "taking a break".
An insider told E! News, "Cami and Charles have been separated for a few months now. They are taking a break from their relationship. Their relationship escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves.
"They both have movie projects separately and it's been a lot on both their plates," they added. "Nothing in particular happened, they just both felt busy and overwhelmed and it was a lot of pressure on them."
The Riverdale co-stars have been dating since 2018 and have pretty much been inseparable ever since, but they do film a whole show together. The source said "things have been normal" between the two. "They are still in touch and both understand they need to be cordial while on set and throughout press for the show."
The split comes just two months after the couple celebrated their first anniversary.
"365 days. i love you (sic)," Camila wrote on a post she shared on Instagram.
"i love you (sic)," Charles responded on his.
