Michael Jackson’s son Prince graduates with honours

Cape Town - Michael Jackson’s eldest son, Prince (22), celebrated his graduation on the weekend – and was almost upstaged by his famous family including his rarely seen younger brother, Blanket.

Prince, who graduated cum laude in business administration from Loyola Marymount University, shared a string of photos of his big day on Instagram.

In the pictures he’s seen posing alongside 17-year-old Blanket as well as his cousin TJ Jackson (40), aunt La Toya Jackson (62) and beloved grandmother, Katherine Jackson (89).

"I met so many people and learnt so much that the experience alone is worth it," Prince wrote. "I wish I could thank everyone that helped me make it to the end but I can’t and unfortunately they’re not all pictured here."

He added: "Honestly I can’t tell you if all of it was worth it yet but I’m proud of my degree as I believe it’s a testament to my dedication and discipline."

He made sure to give a special shout-out to TJ, who served as his guardian with his grandmother after his father’s death in 2009.

"The biggest thanks goes to @tjjackson9 and his brothers (Taryll Jackson and Taj Jackson) who kept pushing me to graduate and finish up my degree when I wanted to quit," he wrote. (They’re the sons of Tito Jackson, the King of Pop's older brother.)

In a proud tweet, TJ wrote: "Prince, it’s been a long road but you did it. Keep learning, keep growing and keep giving back! So proud of you. I love you. #graduation #congrats #proudcousin."

Absent on the special occasion was Prince’s sister Paris (21) as well as his mother, Debbie Rowe, Michael’s ex-wife. However Paris did share a picture of her brother on her Instagram Stories, simply writing: "I’m so proud."

While Prince and Paris have remained in the limelight since their father’s death, Blanket (real name Prince Michael Jackson II) has maintained a low profile and not much is known about him, Daily Mail reports.

In a series of Instagram Stories clips, Prince (real name Michael Joseph Jackson Jr) sat in the crowd with friends, showed off his class ring and noted that it was hot day on the Southern California campus.

He later removed his cap and gown and left the campus on the wheels he arrived – his motorbike.
