Cape Town - Britney Spears is reportedly unable to visit her two sons until ex-husband Kevin Federline sees an improvement in her condition.

Following the 37-year-old singer’s mental health treatment and ongoing conservatorship issues, Kevin (41) wants to see her condition improve before giving her any additional time with their sons, Preston (13) and Jayden (12).

"Britney’s immediate concern has been in having increased visitation time with her boys," a source told Us Weekly.

"Kevin won’t allow the boys to spend more time with their mother until Britney is once again stable and on medication. He allows the boys to spend time with Britney, but it’s at his discretion."

In April the Circus songstress reportedly checked herself into a mental health facility after struggling to deal with the health issues of her father, Jamie Spears, The Blast reports.

"Kevin commends Britney for recognising that she needs to take a step back and that she’s taking the reasonable steps to deal with her situation in a responsible way," Kevin’s attorney said at the time.

The American singer was discharged from a 30-day treatment centre last month.

On Mother’s Day, her new beau, fitness trainer and model Sam Asghari (25), took to Instagram to praise Britney for being an amazing mom.

"Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers out there doing the toughest job in the world!" Sam captioned his post.

Kevin won custody of their two sons in 2008, one year after the pair ended their marriage, Metro reports.

The two have reportedly been battling over child maintenance payments for the past two years.
