Jennifer Aniston recently revealed that her childhood household "felt unsafe".
The star, who recently celebrated her 51st birthday, is the daughter of actress, Nancy Dow and soap star John Aniston, famous for playing Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, reports People. The couple divorced when The Morning Show actress was nine years old.
When Sandra Bullock spoke to Jennifer Aniston for Interview Magazine, the Ocean's 8 star asked, "What is it that allows you to stay buoyant and keep from getting discouraged when things don't go the right way?"
Jen responded, "First of all, that was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me," before revealing that she had a rather difficult childhood. "I think that it comes from growing up in a household that was destabilised and felt unsafe," she said, "watching adults being unkind to each other, and witnessing certain things about human behaviour that made me think: 'I don't want to do that. I don't want to be that. I don't want to experience this feeling I'm having in my body right now.
"I don't want anyone else that I ever come in contact with ever to feel that.'"
She added, "So I guess I have my parents to thank. You can either be angry or be a martyr, or you can say, 'You've got lemons? Let's make lemonade.'"
Interview Magazine released their March cover story on the star on her birthday. With a nod to Friends, the headline read, The One Where Jennifer Aniston Gets Grilled by Sandra Bullock.
