Cape Town - When Orlando Bloom (42) proposed to Katy Perry (34) on Valentine's Day the couple made it Instagram official by posting a snap of the engagement ring.
The beautiful ring caught everyone’s attention for more than just the obvious reasons!
While Katy’s stunning flower ring is truly one-of-a-kind, according to E! Online, many started pointing out how similar it looks to Miranda Kerr’s.
Orlando was married to the Aussie supermodel for three years and they share 8-year-old son, Flynn.
Orlando gave Miranda a flower-shaped diamond engagement ring back in 2010. It had a huge centre stone enveloped by bordering diamonds. The band was gold and featured a few smaller diamonds that wrapped around it.
According to Cosmopolitan, it’s strikingly similar to pop star Katy’s ring - which is reportedly worth $5m (about R67 500).
Both rings have the same flower-like shape and a large centre stone, except Katy’s is a raspberry purple hue. Both of them also seem to have eight smaller diamonds enveloping the centre stone.

However, according to Metro, the rings are actually quite different!
Katy’s is bling and kitsch – to match her style, whereas Miranda’s was more understated.
The newly engaged lovebirds both took to Instagram to share the exciting news. Katy captioned her picture “full bloom”, while the actor shared the same photo, writing, “Lifetimes”.

The couple have been dating on-and-off since early 2016 when photos of them flirting at a Golden Globes after-party emerged.
This will be the second marriage for each of them – Orlando split from Miranda in 2013 and Katy finalised her divorce from comedian Russell Brand in 2012.
Following the engagement, a source told People magazine that Orlando had planned this for a while.
“He wanted it all to be special. Katy’s family knew he was proposing. He talked to her parents about it before,” the source told the outlet.
