Demi Lovato’s family share sweet messages for her birthday

Cape Town – Demi Lovato’s family are grateful the Sober singer survived after overdosing in July.

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker – who is currently receiving extensive treatment in a rehabilitation centre – celebrated her 26th birthday on Monday, 20 August.

In celebrating her life, Demi’s family shared words of appreciation on social media.

“Today could have been one of the worst days of my life, but instead I get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, Demi's team, and everyone across the world who offered their support,” Demi’s little sister, Madison De La Garza wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram.

Demi vowed to “keep fighting” in a statement on Instagram, two weeks after she was rushed to hospital.

“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery.”
