Cape Town - An insider close to Demi Lovato (26) told Us Weekly the songstress is in a much better space six months after her overdose last year.
While the singer is still in recovery, she seems in high spirits and may have started a new relationship with fashion designer Henry Levy (27), who also battles with his sobriety.
"Demi is doing great and is in a much healthier place," a source close to the singer said.
"She’s learning how to take care of herself better and put her needs first," they added.
On 25 July, the Sober singer was found unresponsive in her Hollywood Hills home after smoking oxycodone with traces of fentanyl, the same drug that killed Prince (57) in 2016.
The actress and singer then spent three months in an extensive rehab programme, E! News reports.
Her mother, Dianna de la Garza, was shattered after she found out about her daughter’s overdose, but is happier that she’s taking control of her life again, USA Today reports.
"It's very hard; it's not easy, and there are no shortcuts," she said.
"I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction, being a disease, it’s work."
