Cape Town - Cardi B has reportedly cancelled a couple of her upcoming shows to fully recover from recent plastic surgery procedures.
A statement released at midday on Tuesday announced that the Bodak Yellow hitmaker's scheduled performance in in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday night was postponed due to "circumstances beyond her control," E! News reports
Cardi – who has always been open and honest about having plastic surgery – further cancelled her upcoming performance at Maryland's 92Q Spring Bling Festival on Friday, 24 May.
A source confirmed to E! that the reason was due to her recent surgeries.
"After her plastic surgery, Cardi B jumped right back into her work so she wouldn't disappoint her fans and wanted fulfill her obligations."
A rep for the 26-year-old later confirmed to People that Cardi was "overzealous in getting back to work" and will therefore be cancelling her performances for the rest of May.
"Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work; she didn’t take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery.
"Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and she has been given strict doctor’s orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May."
Cardi got candid earlier this month, about recently having had liposuction.
"I have some news for y'all," she said while performing at the Beale Street Music Festival. "I should have cancelled today... I shouldn't really be performing because moving too much is gonna fuck up my lipo. But bitch I'm still gonna get my motherfucking money back, let's go."
Cardi's revelation came days after she revealed she had breast augmentation surgery after the birth of her daughter, Kulture, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
