Cape Town - While attending California's Stagecoach music festival, where his singer wife, Rita Wilson, was performing, Tom Hanks was denied beer because he didn't have ID.
As we get older, we secretly love getting carded at the club. But that was not the case for Tom Hanks.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, the Toy Storyvoice actor explained: "The great thing about these outdoor festivals, like Stagecoach or Coachella, you know, it's really hot, and they have beer pavillions everywhere, so we were there, and Rita sang at about 13:30 in the afternoon, at about 13.30, I decided to go get myself a frosty cold one."
The bar staff immediately recognised the actor and proceeded to ask for his ID bracelet - as protocol.
To which the Cast Away actor replied: "First of all, you know my name, and secondly, I'd like a beer."
Tom was then informed that he could not be served alcohol unless he presented them with an official "I am over 21 ID bracelet," as they could get fired.
He eventually got served when someone got him a bracelet, and he told the staff that it would "make a great story on The Graham Norton Show."
Of course, which it did!
