Cape Town - TKZee has been performing together again for a while. What’s it been like?
It’s always a great thrill to perform together. This time around, it’s extra special to see fans get so excited to see us and hear their favourite songs. It has been humbling to have a few people say that seeing TKZee perform live is on their bucket list.
TKZee is a treasure for many South Africans.
Are you guys working on any new material?
We have always had ideas – some are recorded and some aren’t. To physically jump into an album would not be too much of an effort at all – as long as the idea and strategy is in place. However, our main focus now is on the movie and we believe that a lot more than an album can come out of this.
TKZee has performed in many places, including Zim and Bots. What’s your favourite crowd to perform for?
Die-hard TKZee fans from anywhere in the world. That, our band, good sound and a great vibe completes the experience.
What’s your favourite track to perform live?
We have a lot in our repertoire. When we decide on a set for a particular show, we will enjoy every single track. And when the audience doesn’t seem as enthusiastic as we would like them to be, we animate them. But, sometimes, we’ve realised that, when they’re not screaming, it’s because they’re listening carefully or are simply mesmerised.
