Cassper Nyovest continues his climb to riches

Johannesburg - Cassper Nyovest continued his climb to riches this week when he was named as an ambassador of premiere international vodka brand Cîroc.

The event – at The Munro Boutique Hotel in Houghton Estate, Joburg – was attended by Nyovest’s family and close friends, a veritable who’s who of local hip-hop.

The news hardly came as a surprise, though.

A few weeks ago, the 26-year-old rapper and producer appeared with bottles of Cîroc in his music video for the song Tito Mboweni.

He brought that full circle by performing the hit at this week’s elegant and intimate bash.

Social media joined the party and the hashtag #OnArrival was trending.

Nyovest looked dapper in a fitted navy blue suit matched with brown leather loafers.

A pleased-as-punch Nyovest told guests: “It’s such an exciting moment for me to be a part of the Cîroc family ... I pride myself in being number one.

Jaws dropped, as they always do, when actress Nomzamo Mbatha appeared to host the party in a tight-fitting gold dress with an exquisite tassel skirt.

After the formalities, guests were served three different cocktails that represented Nyovest’s biggest songs and moments.

“My fans should look out for all my great plans that will come to fruition soon,” the lively rapper said.

“I can’t wait to have intimate dinners with friends and media to answer personal questions that they’ve always wanted to ask,” Nyovest said.

What would a Cassper party be without loud music and a bumping dance floor?

Especially when Major League twins Banele and Bandile Mbere are on the decks.

It was also Riky Rick’s night – the rapper had earlier in the day been announced as the new ambassador for the skincare brand Vaseline SA.

Nyovest congratulated him for scoring the gig (and a hefty cheque).

Nyovest’s sister Thuto, who he named an album after, was there to support her brother, as were members of his label Family Tree, which is fronted by the likes of Anatii and Nadia Nakai.

The label’s rapper, Tshego, put in a performance, but has a way to go before matching Nyovest, who owned the floor, moving like a 16-year-old and showing off his popular moves.
