Cape Town – Grab your tissues there's a Beaches remake and it looks every bit as heart breaking as the original.
In the Lifetime television movie Idina Menzel and Nia Long take on the roles made famous by Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey.
Like the original the story centres on CC (Menzel), an aspiring singer, and Hillary (Long), the daughter of a civil rights lawyer, who become lifelong best friends.
The trailer set to Menzel's version of the Milder classic, Wind Beneath My Wings gives a sneak peek of the friendship between the two, their ups and downs, CC's career and Hillary's illness.
