Johannesburg - Normally The Amazing Race and Survivor followed each other on SABC3 screens. But not anymore – they’ll both be broadcast in September!
The Amazing Race season 25 starts on SABC3, Monday 25 September at 19:30, while Survivor: Worlds Apart will continue airing on SABC3, Tuesdays at 19:30.
Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan says that this season really embraced social media, plus the 11 competing teams are "a great combination – some sweethearts, sisters, firefighters, scientists, a mother and daughter… a mixture of styles, skills and talents that will really turn the race on its head at some of the stops".
Here’s a sneak peek at two or three of our favourite Amazing Racers ahead of the season’s return in September…
Surfer Bethany Hamilton lost her arm in a shark attack in 2003. Her autobiography Soul Surfer was turned into a movie with Hollywood actress AnnaSophia Robb playing Bethany.
Misti and Jim Raman have million-dollar smiles – Phil talks about it all the time and it’s something the cosmetic dentists are “incredibly proud of – it’s our day-to-day business and we’re good at it!”
And when he isn’t waiting tables, Te Jay McGrath is a drag queen and female impersonator who performs under the name Tia Wanna.
