Desperate to tie the knot? Married at First Sight SA is back!

Johannesburg - If you’re ready for marriage but haven’t yet met your match, entries are now open for the second season of Married At First Sight South Africa; a reality TV series in which science meets love as strangers are paired up.

The first local version of the worldwide hit show premiered on A+E Network's Lifetime channel (DStv 131) in February.

It sees a team of experts pair up singles who have so far failed to find love; the only snag is that the couples meet for the first time at the altar.

Oxyg3n Media’s Rebecca Fuller-Campbell, who is Executive Producer of Married At First Sight, says that as with the first season, they’re looking for singles who are committed to finding true love.

She says: “Having been able to watch season one, hopeful singles who apply this time around will have a good understanding of what’s involved. The process aims to match two compatible people who then have six weeks of marriage to decide whether they would like to stay together or split up.”

Fuller-Campbell adds: “While none of the three couples from last season ended up staying together, having the experts in their lives had a positive impact and helped many of the participants improve in other areas and relationships. The series has been produced in over 25 countries worldwide and has helped establish many happy marriages, proving the science does work for many.”

Married At First Sight South Africa relationship expert Paula Quinsee says: “Potential participants need to have an open mind to the process and be willing to follow it through from start to end. This involves; managing expectations, being open to learning from each other and being willing to work through the speed bumps along the way.”

The entry criteria includes:

• Only single men and women between the ages of 24 – 40 can apply
• Have never before married
• Have never had children
