Cape Town – Get ready for some cray-cray: Empire’s Cookie is coming to South Africa.
Taraji P Henson, known for her over-the-top role as cooky-crazy Cookie Lyon in the drama series Empire on FOX (DStv 125 / StarSat 131) is coming to South Africa in June.
The actress will visit Johannesburg to meet and greet "superfans" while MultiChoice announced that its opening up the FOX channel to all its DStv Compact subscribers permanently from 1 June.
Adding FOX to DStv Compact will help to further increase ratings for the channel from the FOX Networks Group that also supplies channels like National Geographic, FX, Fox Crime to pay-TV operators across Africa.

To coincide with the star’s visit, FOX is rebroadcasting the second season of Empire with double episodes over weekends from 4 June.

The month of June will also see the premiere of the much-anticipated second season of Wayward Pines, from executive producer M Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, The Visit), the 10-episode, psychological thriller picks up where it left off in the first season.
Starring Jason Patric (Rush, Narc), two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, In America) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Hope Davis (American Crime, The Newsroom), the residents of Wayward Pines are still battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation Dr. Theo Yedlin.
On the same night on 6 June at 21:50 Outcast, based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes (Patric Fugit), a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost.
