Johannesburg - The sexy, edgy, swear-y, DGAF women on six internet-TV series this weekend are all about sisters doing it for themselves (and they’ll probably do it for you, too).

1. Keeping Up with the Kardashians (Seasons 1-5)

Starting with the women who are literally sisters, the first five seasons of the Kardashians have launched on ShowMax and are wide open for your bingeing pleasure. Their escapades are utterly ridiculous, but this family never ceases to amaze and entertain us. Now that Kylie and Kendall are all grown up, with their own brands of celebrity, you’ll love seeing how little they were when their family empire started letting the world see just how krazy they all are.

Do you have what it takes to keep up?

Available on ShowMax

2. Hot in Cleveland (Seasons 1-6)

They may be middle-aged in Hollywood, but they’re hot AF in Cleveland. When Melanie, Joy and Victoria get accidentally diverted through Ohio, they realise that they’ve missed this kind of attention from men in LA, and decide to stay a while. They end up at Elka’s boarding house, where the nonagenarian (played by Betty White), whose energy, spirit, sex life and sarcasm make her the hottest woman on the show, keeps them in check by making sure their heads never get too big. This comedy is an entertaining lesson in grabbing life by the balls … no matter how old you are.

3. Garfunkel & Oates: Trying to be Special

Kate and Rikki might look like nursery school teachers, but they’ve got mouths like sailors. In this comedy special, which launched last year after the first season of their series took off, the duo perform an unusual kind of stand up - with Kate on the ukelele and Rikki on the guitar, they basically spend an hour singing dick jokes. And vagina jokes. And blow job jokes. And they do a bit of rapping too - with a brief break for Kate to sprint off stage to get her computer so that they can give the sound guy the right track after sending him the wrong one by mistake. Our favourite songs of theirs have got to be “This party just took a turn for the douche” and “The loophole”.

4. You Me Her (Season 1)

Jack and Emma’s marriage is on the rocks. They tell their therapist that they have sex about 1.5 times a week, but, actually, they haven’t done it in months. Jack takes some very odd advice from a colleague to hire an escort to help him get his mojo back, but what he doesn’t expect is to feel a real connection to the woman who arrives at his hotel door. He gets home, comes clean to Emma, and that’s where this crazy, kinky, modern love triangle gets its start. Emma meets Izzie and the two start falling - hard - for each other. This rom-com must be one of the sexiest, steamiest series we’ve seen since Pretty Little Liars.

5. Fleabag (Season 1)

“I have a horrible feeling that I’m a greedy, perverted, selfish, apathetic, cynical, depraved, morally bankrupt woman who can’t even call herself a feminist.” This is what Fleabag admits towards the end of episode 1, and at this point, we have to agree. This is a sharp, wry British comedy about a young woman who’s falling apart but refuses to let anyone help her. Her promiscuity means there’s loads of sex, but her constant, almost sly pieces to the camera keep the mood light … though she’s obviously living with a lot of darkness. Written by and starring the playwright Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Olivia Colman as her godmother-turned-father’s-lover. “To be fair, she’s not an evil stepmother,” Fleabag tells us, “She’s just a c**t.”

6. The Big C (Seasons 1-4)

Laura Linney is a treat as Cathy, not your average housewife. In Season 1, Cathy is diagnosed with cancer, and she decides to keep it a secret from her family. This is when we realise that Cathy’s really got balls, despite her comfortable suburban existence and conservative button-down shirts. She’s tough and resolute and decides, with the diagnosis, to stop taking crap from anyone. She kicks her husband out and starts flirting with her very good-looking, much younger doctor … and finally starts living.
