This idiot wants to buy Kanye West's album so no one else can listen to it

Cape Town – Martin Shkreli - the "pharmaceutical businessman" who bought the manufacturing rights to an antiretroviral for HIV/Aids and then hiked up the price to unaffordable proportions – offered to purchase Kanye West’s latest album, The Life Of Pablo.

Offering West $10m, Shkreli took to Twitter around the same time of West’s Yeezy Season 3 event at Madison Square Garden to write the rapper a formal letter praising him for his influential music.

He wrote: "I have been a tremendous fan of your music … the album, The College Dropout inspired me to succeed at a young age."

He then got down to business and put his hefty offer on the table, "Instead of releasing this product for your millions of fans, I ask you to sell this recording solely to me

"I believe you (and your partners) will find this financial arrangement more attractive than your current course of action."

According to Vulture.com, Shkreli is already the sole owner of American hip hop group Wu-Tang's special Shaolin album, a possession that has led to drama with American rapper Ghostface Killah.

But as luck would have it, West went ahead with the album launch and Shkreli ran into some technical difficulties.

With The Life Of Pablo already out, Shkreli blamed Twitter for not knowing whether his offer had been accepted or rejected, he tweeted:
