5 The Vamps covers you have to watch before their SA tour

Cape Town – As 2017 kicks into gear we’re super-excited for all the international acts heading to our shores this year.

And while this year sees the return of artists such as Justin Bieber and The Lumineers, it will be the very first visit to SA for British pop rockers The Vamps in March.

Who are The Vamps?

They’re a British band consisting of Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals).

Why do we like them?

While they became famous for loading cover songs onto YouTube, they are very much a self-made outfit. They don’t agree with the label "boy band" or the comparison to One Direction, as they’ve pointed out: they formed by themselves; they are not the product of a record producer and they play their own instruments.

While they also write their own original songs, we take a look at what made them famous below.

Check out their top cover songs here:

1) Can’t Stop The Feeling – Justin Timberlake

2) Rockabye – Clean Bandit

3) Pillowtalk – Zayn

4) Love Yourself – Justin Bieber

5) Story Of My Life – One Direction

Another songs that needs to be added to this list, is their song Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart). Very few people know this, but the song is an adaptation/cover of Simon & Garfunkel's 1970 hit song, Cecilia.
