5 reasons to attend the Off The Grid Music Festival this weekend

Cape Town - Off the Grid is an outdoor summer event set on a beautiful organic farm, Camphill Village.

The festival is set to take place this Saturday, 25 February.

Check out these 5 reasons why you should attend the festival:

1) The line-up!

The festivities will kick off with the hip hop sounds of Mad-A-CPT, a new talent from the Westcoast, for some very lekker local flair. Blues band Bootleggers will get you on your feet and the echoes of one of the most versatile and talented guitarists in SA, Albert Frost, will get you in the mood for more. Majozi, who had a phenomenal year in 2016, will brighten the stage with his popular and soulful songs and new indie band Jackal and the Wind will make you want to party all night. Add to this the much celebrated Freshlyground and Off the Grid is set to be one of the social highlights on the Western Cape calendar.

2) The beautiful farm setting.

This year you can bring your tent and camp for the night if you are not keen to drive home.

3) Ticket sales are for a good cause.

Camphill Village Westcoast is home to approximately 90 intellectually disabled adults who also work on the farm in a dairy, bakery, cosmetics workshop and on the land. The ticket sales raise funds for the farm.

4) Drinks and food.

There will be a bar and food stalls as well as some stalls with products made by the residents of Camphill Village Westcoast.

5) The festival promotes sustainable energy, and the reduction of carbon emissions.

As this is an event that promotes sustainable energy and the reduction of carbon emissions, Camphill Village Westcoast is inviting festivalgoers who are keen to cycle to the event from Cape Town. A group of people will be leading those who would like to cycle from Cape Town on a route up the West Coast through the country that misses the major freeways. The ride is approximately 60km. Anyone wishing to join the ride can contact Janine on fundraiser@camphill.org.za.
