Cape Town – The much-anticipated Trainspotting sequel hits cinemas this weekend. 21 years after the first movie Ewan McGregor and the gang are back.

Movie: T2: Trainspotting
Our rating: 3/5
Short review: Ewan McGregor leads this lukewarm follow-up that lacks the punch of the original.
Movie: Hidden Figures
Our rating: 5/5
Short review: Hidden Figures has all the winning elements worthy of a Best Picture – it has heart, great acting, an unforgettable story and above all food for the soul.
Movie: A Dog's Purpose
Our rating: 2/5
Short review: A Dog’s Purpose has a wholesome premise, but fails to really answer the titular question.
Movie: Tess
Our rating: 3/5
Short review: This is not the type of movie you see if you are in the mood for a casual watch however, Tess is an important story that deserves telling.
Movie: Fist Fight
Our rating: 2/5
Short review: If you like Ice Cube surly and sneering, find penis drawings hilarious and believe real men solve problems by throwing punches, Fist Fight is for you.
