Here's a festive flick to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside

Johannesburg - City Press reviews the newly released film, Almost Christmas.

MOVIE: Almost Christmas

DIRECTOR: David E Talbert

STARRING: Gabrielle Union, Kimberly Elise, Danny Glover

WHAT CITY PRESS THOUGHT:

The holidays are all about families coming together and bonding after a long year – or not. At the very least one should be able to have a good laugh. And that’s what this charming holiday comedy offers in spades.

Writer-director David E Talbert has created a family that we can relate to. The Meyers are just like us – flawed. Rachel (Gabrielle Union) is a single mom who aspires to be a lawyer, but is stuck in her job as a waitress. She looks down on her older sister, Cheryl (Kimberly Elise), who works as a dentist and is at war with her unfaithful ex-athlete husband. Their conflicts collide around the Christmas table.

Almost Christmas is funny and sad, and a bit mindless, but will leave you feeling fuzzy inside, aware of the importance of family. Pack away your cynicism, get the family together and head to a cinema near you this holiday.
