Ryan Reynolds makes terminally ill 5-year-old’s dream come true

Cape Town - Ryan Reynolds made 5-year-old Daniel Downing’s wish come true when FaceTiming him from the set of Deadpool 2.

The Marvel superfan was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer called pontine glioma. The boy, who calls Ryan his hero, was given months to live prompting his parents to try and make his last wish come true.

The Deadpool actor agreed to a call which turned into a 15 minute FaceTime interaction.

In a video of Daniel’s interaction with Ryan, the 5-year-old straight away asks Deadpool to FaceTime him. What follows is chitchat about Daniel’s Deadpool T-shirt as well as the comic book adaption.

Ryan also surprised Daniel with an exclusive sneak peek of the sequel.

He said: “I'm about to walk into the set and shoot Deadpool 2... Do you want to walk with me? I’ll take you onto the set.”
