PIC: Prince George turns four

Cape Town – Prince George celebrates his fourth birthday on Saturday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked the occasion by sharing a new official portrait of George taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson.

The photo was taken at Kensington Palace at the end of June.

Alongside the picture they wrote: "The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new official portrait of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness's fourth birthday tomorrow.??"

"The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this lovely picture as they celebrate Prince George's fourth birthday, and would like to thank everyone for all of the kind messages they have received."

According to the BBC Jackson said he is a happy boy who injects fun into a photoshoot.

The prince has spent the run-up to his birthday on a tour of Poland and Germany with his parents and sister Princess Charlotte.

On Friday they wrapped up the tour with a visit to the European plane maker Airbus' Hamburg plant where they met apprentices and were being shown the assembly of A320 jets, as well as two helicopters.
