JAY-Z publicly addresses that elevator fight for the first time

Cape Town – JAY-Z has finally spoken publicly about that infamous elevator incident with his sister-in-law, Solange Knowles.

TMZ reports the ManyFacedGod hitmaker addressed the 2014 incident in a podcast interview with Rap Radar.

Without discussing finer details of the fight, JAY-Z reveals all it was, was an argument and that he and Solange were perfectly fine before it happened and have been perfectly fine since it happened.

“We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we've been cool. She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister, not my sister-in-law, my sister.”

What still remains unknown is the actual reason Solange attacked JAY-Z in an elevator at a MET Gala after party held at The Standard Hotel.

Many reports have said Solange’s attack was an act of outrage towards rumours of JAY-Z cheating on Beyoncé.

The duo released a joint statement after footage of the fight emerged online saying they have worked things out.

READ THE STATEMENT HERE:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.

“But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred.

“They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
